THE ROYAL STYLE REVIEW: The Wedding of Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg and the Countess Stephanie de Lannoy

I am an absolute sucker for a royal wedding.
All the pomp and pageantry…and the hats. Oh those hats make my heart skip a beat!

This past weekend HRH Prince Guillaume, the Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg (a tiny country sandwiched between Belgium, France and Germany just in case you are wondering),  married the Countess Stephanie de Lannoy, who looked every inch the princess in a gorgeous Elie Saab and wore a tiara created for her family in 1878 by the firm Altenloh de Bruxelles.
(Elie Saab seemed to be the designer of choice for the Luxembourg wedding, it seems like almost every royal lady took the bride's lead and wore at least one Elie Saab confection throughout the weekend festivities)

All the chic royal ladies were out in full 'mad hatter' mode for the religious ceremony that took place on Saturday, October 20, 2012. (Sophie, The Countess of Wessex and Princess Maxima of The Netherlands took the lead that afternoon as expected, these two never disappoint in my eyes when it comes to delightful millinery confections!)

The Royal Highnesses of Style also lit up the skies of Luxembourg the evening before the wedding when they strutted the family jewels out for a stroll at a pre-wedding gala. Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece outshone her royal competition in a stunning gold Elie Saab (my fav of the night!) and while we couldn't source any full images of the red Jesper Høvring gown that Princess Mary of Denmark wore, from what we have seen so far, it doesn't surprise us that she always finds herself on best dressed lists every year!
A stylish feast for the eyes if I may say so myself!
Are you with us on our best dressed picks or was there another royal lady that caught your eye??
